After a month coming back from Bangkok i have been slacking around and couldn't seem to be motivated enough to write anything about my Bangkok trip on July but thank goodness i got back my oomph again in writing.
Bangkok Day 2
We make our way to Bangkok Grand Palace via public transportation. Here is the previous post if you haven read it. To us it felt like it's going to be another normal walk through Bangkok day but fate brought us meeting two new friends and we just click away. What are the odds of meeting friends in another country and become good friends instantly?
This is were we got detour by a well suit up formal guy in front of Grand Palace Bangkok. He approached us asking us where to go and is this our first time to Bangkok. After that he would take out a map and show all the must go places and we can visit all the places via tuk tuk with a cheap rate at 40 - 50 baht.
Here is the down side about the tuk tuk tour package. If you plan your day in Bangkok city best not to take tuk tuk with tour package because they will bring you at least four to five wholesaler place where you will have to go through desperate dealers trying to get you to buy their stuffs.
If you do not have any specific plan and you're on free and easy mode. I guess taking the tuk tuk package would be great.
Reminder: If there is any person that approach you, giving you excuses to get tour package because the Grand Place only open in the afternoon for none tour guide tourist. That's a huge lie. The Grand Palace opens for everybody at it opening hour.
Anyway, we meet each another like less than 10 minutes and end up cramping together in a small tuk tuk. We don't even know each other name yet! and yet we can just get on the tuk tuk and agree to spend the entire day together. *Most random meet up ever
We visited the golden mount temple.
We had crazy spicy street food economy rice together.
After spending almost half a day with the tuk tuk tour package. We ended up back at Grand Palace and just in time to explore in there.
We paid 400baht (RM40) for the entrance and you can get maps in different languages at the entrance gate.Apparently they have rules and regulation on entire. Guys and girls need to wear long pants. If you are not wearing any long pants you will have to rent a long pants with a refundable deposit.
The bad thing about renting a long pants is you have to wait for the long queue in paying the deposit and waiting for available long pants. It is a waste of time waiting everyone over there. Best thing you want to do is wear a long pants going there if you don't want to wait.
Things got worst for me because i ended up wearing my short pants and long pants together. It was already a hot day and it felt like something is steaming up inside in my pants. =.=
Here are some of the pictures i took in Grand Palace. All the temples in there are magnificent and beautiful. They really did a great job in preserving the beautiful colors of the temples.
Fate brought us together and surprisingly they stay at the same street as us. Unfortunately they have to catch a bus ride to Pattaya. It would be even more awesome if we could spend another day or two together. We had so much epic fun together. I hope we can gather around at the same place where we meet in few years time. It's really great meeting you girls and hope to see everyone in near future.
I don't even know why but it seems that we trusted each another a lot and help each another out. I guess it's really cool to meet new people at oversea.
The writer's advises - Be careful with anyone that approach you around Bangkok Grand Palace. They could be trying to scam you or detour you by getting you into tuk tuk and change your plan of the day if you had one. As usual, keep yourself hydrated and wear a comfortable shoe.
